So has anyone thought yet about what booze they'll be bringing? No glass is allowed (and I support this rule - broken glass shards on the ground are an issue I'd rather not worry about if I decide to spend any time barefoot!).

I think we'll bring a variety of canned beers - probably some cheap European lager (my fave is Kozel, from Poland) as well as some good local craft brews - more and more breweries are using cans instead of/as well as glass bottles, so you can get a great variety of quality craft beers here in Ontario. Depending on your taste, I can definitely make some recommendations! I think we'll probably bring some Boneshaker and Headstock (both IPAs), and others to be determined.

Caesars are always a great way to start the day off right, so we'll be bringing some vodka (along with Clamato juice and the other fixins, of course!)and also probably some scotch for my hubby.  We picked up a couple of 1 L, resealable plastic containers a couple of years ago and will empty our alcohol from the glass bottles into those prior to entering the festival. Great way to bring good booze in without risking it being confiscated at the gate.

If there is an interest, perhaps we could plan to do a beer exchange one day during the festival, especially if there are people coming up from the US or other parts of Canada who will be bringing some cool beers with them!

Likely some kind of whiskey, probably Jameson, *maybe* soem Jaeger. If La Fin du Monde was available in cans, I'd be down, but otherwise, probably not beer.

I'm bringing a case of beer over the border but I'm not sure which brand yet. I have to buy at Duty Free because that's the only legal place (+ Duty-Free equivalents) for 19 year-olds to buy alcohol in the US. Any suggestions? In the past I've just drank whatever beer has been placed in front of me and haven't payed too much attention to brand.

EDIT: I might just bring vodka. I'm very indecisive.

Booze is pretty pricey in Ontario compared to the U.S., though with the current exchange rate it might not be too too bad. Alcohol sales are tightly regulated in Ontario - the only places you can currently booze is at provincially owned liquor stores (known as the LCBO) or The Beer Store (owned by three big beer companies) Through their websites below you can check out locations, selection and pricing.

Ohioan here, chief. Stock up before you leave. Prices are a bitch in Canada, even with favorable rates. Even if it's shit beer, you can still get a case of Natty for ten bucks. If I were allowed to bring glass bottles, I'd load up on Great Lakes and bring them. As it stands, I'm probably going to drink some Arizona plastic tallboys, then fill those up with booze.

You can bring a 40 of booze over with you *OR* a case of beer, but the rest you have to hide.I'm a bit leery doing the sneak move because I'm almost certain they'll ask more questions if we're loaded up for a festival coming from the States, but worst I think they'd make you do is ditch the rest of the booze

Yeah borders are scary haha. We don't bring anything we shouldn't when we come down to the US for festivals- I can't imagine how disappointing it would be to be festival-ready, making the drive down, and have to miss out last minute because they denied us border entry.

Are you coming alone, Roc_Borja? Because I think the amounts TalRazMob quoted are per person - so if coming with more people, you can bring up more booze Smile

Yes, Bella is right, that's per person. Now, since we're staying a few days, we can bring a crapload more back, but again, the prices are a bitch. Personally, I'm only grabbing cloves. As far as the recreationals are concerned, I'm in the same boat. I KNOW, FOR FACT, that the green can be delivered to you in Toronto (I was steered to a lovely resource at Shanti Baba on Queen St in downtown Toronto which is Craigslist. Yes, Craigslist. Yes, it's legit, and yes, I know that for fact as well Wink) Aside from that I would have to come up Wednesday night for that (...which I would not mind doing if I had a place to crash...) or cop at the spot

You will be dealing with Canadian guards coming in. American going back. Your best bet will be in the camp grounds.
